Armored Recovery Vehicles M74 (M4A3)  & T14E1 (M4A3)

If you think tanks are impressive, wait until you meet the machines built to rescue them...

Between all those barrels and turrets, nothing stands out quite like a heavy-duty jib and a winch that could pull a house off its foundations. These two ARVs, the 1944 M74 and the 1945 T14E1, are the battlefield’s roadside assistance, the mechanical first responders that made sure others could keep moving forward. Built like massive pocket knives on tracks, these ARV's are for those collectors who want to do more with their tank than just drive it.

The M74 started life as a Sherman M4A3 and later bulked up into a full-blown recovery beast; forty-plus tons of steel, a 40-ton winch, and the muscle to pull a Pershing out of the mud.

The T14E1, on the other hand, is the rarest of the rare; a one-off prototype built for an invasion that never came. It’s the kind of machine that makes even seasoned collectors pause for a second look.

They’re bold. They’re functional. And for once, they’re not here to destroy vehicles — but to save them.
