With space for up to 6 passengers, it offers comfortable and cozy trips to your favorite events. Whether it's a winter drive, with the warmth of the built-in heater, or a summer ride with the front and side windows down for a refreshing breeze, this vehicle adapts perfectly to any season.
A unique feature of this model is the placement of the spare tire: unlike its larger sibling, the WC 53, you can easily get in on the driver's side. After a thorough service, this vehicle offers unmatched charm and character.
Perfect for those who love to drive in style and comfort!
This Dodge Carryall is in good condition and drives and brakes well. It’s a WC26 model from 1942, equipped with a later T215 engine, a common upgrade over time. The good news is that this is the strongest engine in the series. The vehicle is fully complete, including a cabin heater, with well-preserved upholstery and doors that close properly. All windows are in proper working order except for one (the right middle), which requires some minor attention. There are some cracks in the paint in a few areas, and it shows light signs of use from being regularly driven at events. A full maintenance check is recommended to keep it in good shape.
The Dodge 1/2 ton series, including the W26 Carryall, was part of a larger range of military vehicles produced by Dodge for the U.S. Army during the early 1940s. Built primarily between 1941 and 1942, these vehicles were manufactured at the Dodge Main Plant in Detroit, Michigan. Dodge, a division of Chrysler, was a key player in supplying vehicles for military operations during World War II. The company produced tens of thousands of light trucks, including command cars, weapon carriers, ambulances, and cargo trucks.
The 1/2 ton series was the Army’s first standardized light military vehicle before the 3/4 ton series replaced it. These vehicles were designed to be versatile and reliable, suitable for use in various battlefield conditions. Dodge 1/2 tons were deployed across different fronts, including Europe, the Pacific, and North Africa, supporting U.S. and Allied forces in crucial campaigns. They were favored for their ruggedness, 4x4 capability, and ability to handle rough terrain.
Although many variants of the 1/2 ton series were produced, including the WC51 and WC52, the W26 Carry-All had a much more limited production run. This limited manufacturing, along with its proven reliability in combat, has made the W26 a rare and highly sought-after vehicle today. Its historical significance, coupled with its scarcity, adds to its appeal among collectors and military history enthusiasts.
