This 1944 Ford M20 Light Armoured Car is presented in nicely restored condition and has recently undergone extensive servicing and refurbishment. The vehicle remains in very good running and driving condition, with the engine having been largely rebuilt in recent years.

The exterior is finished in an authentic WWII U.S. Army configuration complete with period-correct markings and accessories. This M20 is also equipped with both the SCR-506 and SCR-508 radio systems complete with authentic antenna setup, giving the vehicle an impressive military appearance.

The interior compartment, crew area and technical fittings also show dedicated restoration work while maintaining the original character of the vehicle.

Vehicles of this type are only very rarely offered for sale, especially in Europe, where complete and operational M20 Armoured Cars have become increasingly difficult to source.

The vehicle benefits from:

·       recent full service and mechanical inspection,

·       largely rebuilt Hercules JXLD engine,

·       good running and driving condition,

·       solid and clean bodywork,

·       authentic military presentation,

·       Dutch registration documentation,

·       and authentic collector-grade presentation.

This vehicle is not a freshly restored showpiece but instead presents a beautifully authentic appearance with honest signs of use and patina, just as these vehicles would have shown during the Second World War. This character only adds to its authenticity and historic appeal.

Mechanically, the vehicle is in very good condition and has recently been fully serviced, allowing it to be thoroughly enjoyed during weekend drives, commemorative tours and participation in historic military events.

This M20 is suitable for historic military vehicle collections, museum display, commemorative driving events, reenactment activities or private ownership.

Podsumowanie

The M20 Armoured Utility Car was developed by the Ford Motor Company during World War II as a command and reconnaissance variant of the famous M8 Greyhound armoured car. Sharing the same chassis, drivetrain and reliable six-wheel-drive configuration as the M8, the M20 featured an open fighting compartment with a ring mount for a .50 caliber machine gun, allowing additional space for radio equipment, liaison duties and command personnel.

Production started in 1943 and continued through the end of the war, with approximately 3,791 vehicles built exclusively by Ford. Thousands of M20s were delivered to Allied forces operating throughout Europe, where they became highly valued for their speed, reliability, mobility and excellent off-road capabilities.

During the liberation of Europe, M20 vehicles were widely used by U.S. reconnaissance units and armoured divisions for scouting, liaison and convoy escort duties. Thanks to their versatility and dependable performance, many examples remained in military service with NATO countries and allied armies for decades after WWII.

Today the M20 is regarded as one of the most desirable American WWII reconnaissance and command vehicles. Genuine, restored and operational examples are increasingly rare, particularly within Europe, and are only very seldom offered on the international market.
